Legal Information Our Privacy Policy
On the Danube, our guests entrust their experience to us. It’s no different here on our website. That’s why we handle your data with the same care we take with our raft.
We take data protection seriously
Protecting your privacy when processing personal data is a top priority for us. When you visit our website, our web servers automatically record your Internet service provider’s IP address, the website from which you are visiting us, the pages you view on our site, as well as the date and duration of your visit. This information is essential for the technical delivery of our web pages and for secure server operation. This data is not analyzed on an individual basis.
If you send us data via the contact form, this data is stored on our servers as part of our data backup procedures. We use your data exclusively to process your inquiry. Your data is treated as strictly confidential. It is not shared with third parties.

Personal data
Personal data is information about you. This includes your name, address, and email address. You are not required to provide any personal data to visit our website. In some cases, we need your name and address, as well as additional information, in order to provide you with the service you request.
The same applies if we provide you with informational materials at your request or if we respond to your inquiries. In such cases, we will always notify you. Furthermore, we only store the data that you have provided to us automatically or voluntarily.
When you use one of our services, we generally collect only the data necessary to provide you with our service. We may ask you for additional information, but this is optional. Whenever we process personal data, we do so to provide you with our service or to pursue our business objectives.

- Affected individuals: Communication partners.
- Purposes of processing: Contact requests and communication.

Automatically saved data
Server log files
The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. This information includes:
- Date and time of the request
- Name of the requested file
- The page from which the file was requested
- Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
- Web browser and operating system used
- full IP address of the requesting computer
- amount of data transferred
This data is not combined with other data sources. The processing is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.
For technical security reasons, particularly to defend against attempted attacks on our web server, we temporarily store this data. We are unable to identify individual persons based on this data. After no more than seven days, the data is anonymized by truncating the IP address to the domain level, so that it is no longer possible to link it to an individual user. In anonymized form, the data is also processed for statistical purposes; it is not compared with other data sets or disclosed to third parties, even in excerpts. The number of page views is reported solely as part of our server statistics, which we publish every two years in our activity report.
Cookies
When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Many cookies contain what is known as a cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique identifier for the cookie. It consists of a string of characters that allows websites and servers to associate the cookie with the specific web browser in which it was stored. This enables the visited websites and servers to distinguish the individual browser of the data subject from other web browsers that contain different cookies. A specific web browser can be recognized and identified via the unique cookie ID.
By using session cookies, the controller is able to provide users of this website with a user-friendly service that would not be possible without the use of cookies. Without consent, we use only technically necessary cookies on the legal basis of legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
Matomo
We use the web analytics service Matomo on our website.
Matomo uses cookies for this analysis.
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website.
The information generated by the cookies—such as the time, location, and frequency of your website visits, including your IP address—is transmitted to our PIWIK server and stored there.
Your IP address is immediately anonymized during this process, so that you remain anonymous to us as a user.
The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is not shared with third parties.
You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all features of our website to their full extent.
Safety
We have implemented technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, tampering, and unauthorized access. All of our employees and service providers working on our behalf are bound by applicable data protection laws.
Whenever we collect and process personal data, it is encrypted before being transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security measures are subject to a continuous improvement process, and our privacy policies are regularly updated. Please make sure you have the most recent version.
Rights of affected individuals
You have the right at any time to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your stored data, as well as the right to object to the processing, the right to data portability, and the right to file a complaint in accordance with the provisions of data protection law.
Right to access information:
You may request information from us regarding whether and to what extent we process your data.
Right to rectification:
If we process your data and it is incomplete or inaccurate, you may request that we correct or complete it at any time.
Right to erasure:
You may request that we delete your data if we are processing it unlawfully or if such processing disproportionately infringes upon your legitimate interests. Please note that there may be reasons that prevent immediate deletion, such as statutory retention requirements.
Regardless of whether you exercise your right to erasure, we will promptly and completely erase your data, provided that no contractual or legal obligation to retain such data prevents us from doing so.
Right to restriction of processing:
You may request that we restrict the processing of your data if
- You dispute the accuracy of the data, for a period of time that allows us to verify the accuracy of the data.
- the processing of the data is unlawful, but you object to its erasure and instead request that its use be restricted,
- we no longer need the data for the intended purpose, but you still need it to assert or defend legal claims, or
- You have objected to the processing of your data.
Right to data portability:
You may request that we provide you with the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and that you be able to transmit this data to another controller without hindrance from us, provided that

- this processing is carried out using automated means.
If technically feasible, you may request that we transfer your data directly to another data controller.
Right to object:
If we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you may object to this data processing at any time; this would also apply to profiling based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. You may object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time without providing a reason.
Right to file a complaint:
If you believe that we are violating German or European data protection laws in our processing of your data, please contact us so that we can address your concerns. You also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for your case, namely the relevant State Office for Data Protection Supervision.
If you wish to exercise any of the rights listed above, please contact our Data Protection Officer. If necessary, we may request additional information to verify your identity.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend our privacy policy if necessary due to new technologies. Please ensure that you have the most recent version. If any significant changes are made to this privacy policy, we will post a notice on our website.
